From the definition given by The Prince's Foundation for Integrated Health, BCH (ACHO & CHF) is deemed a 'regulatory body' by the role it has carried out for the last 22 years. This role has been updated in the last two years to meet the
more recent needs of the public, practitioners and schools. ACHO and CHF as the British Crystal Healers (BCH) is a member of the General Regulatory Council for Complementary Therapies (GRCCT)and have therfore taken the requirements for Voluntary Self Regulation (VSR) and implemented them. The national concerns that have led to the development of VSR have been mainly centred around the safety of the public and how they can distinguish between a well trained practitioner and people who have only taken a short course. BCH meets the requirements by: |
| 1. | Being independent of professional bodies |
| 2. | Promoting the process of regulation |
| 3. |
Holding a Register of Profesional Practitioners who have met the agreed standards of training and practice ACHO and CHF provides entry onto its practitioner registers once a practitioner can prove they are safe and fit to practise. To go onto the ACHO and CHF Practitioner Register the practitioners must have completed a recognised course, participated in continual professional development (CPD), have current insurance. Practitioners on the ACHO and CHF registers are subject to the BCH code of conduct, ethics and disciplinary procedures. A practitioner's fitness to stay on the register is reviewed and renewed annually.
